Dave, you are doing us all proud. I probably don't have to mention I'm living vicariously through you at SX... (that's "south by" right?)

Enjoy your updates. & Thanks for sharing.

My favorite moment of my first SXSWi (2005) was when I tapped someone on the shoulder and let him knew we were going to the bar, and he replied "Actually, I'm not John, I'm Craig, what's your name?" I looked at his name tag and it read "Craig Newmark. Craigslist.com" He's a really nice guy actually, apparently even nicer if you don't approach him knowing he's a "the craig".

My other favorite moment was when I butted in on a conversation in halls about the future of Journalism, and didn't realize the people who began listening to what I had to say had names like Dan Gilmore. I stuttered for a moment when i did though, and some how i decided that was the day i was real nerd.

Usually i had a press pass and ended up making my friends in the weird center room full of Dr. Pepper and round tables (its called the press suite or something hilarious).

It was always kind of funny though, at least in 2005 i only learned in there how far behind mainstream journalism's knowledge was. I was studying journalism in community college back then, but getting featured in wired because of folks like - i think you....

5 years later, I'd say I was right in principle (its a debated, but accepted principle now i gather), but maybe (probably) wrong about the circumstance. Anyways, have fun in ATX man!
