Journalism That Matters Conference

Just a quick post to get back in the habit of posting.

I’m back from volunteering at a summer camp for the week. It was a blast and I’m nice and tan. I go every year and in many ways — I have family there.

I’m in New York for the night — but tomorrow morning I leave for Washginton D.C. for the Journalism that Matters Conference.

I’m very excited. I got back from camp to find out about NowPublic’s 10.6 million dollars in venture capital. Merill Brown and I have emailed breifly and he has agreed to be a presenter at the News Innovation conference I’m organizing in October, so it will be nice to meet him and others in person.

But more important than networking is the fact that this is a conference with a purpose. I will probably write a post about it at NewAssignment.Net. For now — time to get some needed sleep.
