Bleacher Report, a citizen journalism site for sports, has announced its public launch and the completion of a Series A round of funding. The site is sort of like sports talk radio meets the Web, in that allows notoriously vocal sports fans to setup their own blogs and offer their own opinions on the stories of the day. If you already maintain a blog, you can feed it into Bleacher Report, which aggregates posts under different channels for the different major leagues and college sports.
In addition to its blogging features, Bleacher Report brings in social elements to help commentators find an audience. Each user gets their own profile where you can see their recent articles, and users of the site can become â??fansâ? of authors so you can get updates when they make new posts. Readers can also setup custom feeds to track their favorite teams and players.
