At the Netsquared conference last week I got to interview several people, like Bryan from Ask A Lawmaker.
I was also very excited to see and interview Chris Messina. Chris is still a member of my “Community Dream Team” and I was intrigued by his new gig – working on DiSo full time. I remember when I first heard about the DiSo project: Distributed social networking. It’s the kind of stuff that, when explained and grokked, thrusts you into the future of the web.
But don’t take my word for it….
Excited to see what happens and wishing the best to Chris and Tara, who I’m told will be keeping Citizen Agency running.
Dave, you’re on a roll! I’ve yearned for a way to have social networks beyond the confines (walled garden) of centralized services (e.g. Facebook). I’ve wondered about DiSo and this does help clear things up… loved how you probed deeper, as if you read my mind there.
I’m playing with MyBlogLog, SixGroup and retaggr on my blog as a way to have us bloggers move freely around the blogosphere, yet maintain our identities across seemlessly. In a way, to take “Facebook” features and turn them inside out.
Keep up the great work Dave! 🙂

I wish I had recorded the conversation after this video as well. Cause I was talking to Chris and I said: “so you are trying to turn the web into facebook, or to make it so that any blog can be like facebook.”
Chris’s response was (not an exact quote): Yea, if I’m having trouble explaining it – I say, picture Facebook, but without Facebook.”
