There is a Knight News Challenge meetup here in San Francsico.
I wish more than anything that I could attend, but alas, I can’t.
That week I will be in New York for the New Business Models for News Summit. Last year this was the “Networked Journalism Summit” that I helped to organize with Jeff Jarvis. When Jarvis asked me to help again I couldn’t say no.
Working for Jarvis has been very enlightening. You start to notice the traits of a highly effective and accomplished person. Organizing the Networked Journalism Summit (and this years New Business Models for News) has allowed me to step a bit beyond myself, apply organizational skills I didn’t know I had. More than anything that’s what conference organizing requires: Lots of emails and being organized.
I’ll try to get lots of video interviews with the people who will be participating in the event.
As for the Knight News Challenge – while I can’t attend the SF meetup, I can encourage everyone and anyone to apply.
I’ve written about this before – but now there are only three weeks left.
This is your chance to get money to create digital poetry!
For more explanation of what I mean, read this post on the Knight News Challenge.
