T-Post is a t-shirt company and you subscribe to their monthly editions. I’m sure that’s something similar to the Macy’s Catalog, or what-have-you. So what’s the catch. Why the blog post digidave and what does this have to do with the news industry?
The inspiration for their t-shirt lines come from world events.
T-post compares their subscirptions to buying a monthly magazine, but instead of receiving a new patch of stapled papers coming to your mail slot every month, you get a t-shirt that communicates a recent event in the world. It’s a t-shirt subscription, ‘extra extra, wear all about.’
This design is apparently about the Taiwanese scientists who created glow in the dark pigs in January. I personally read into it as representing the Tsunami, but then I saw the explanation. Perhaps that design needed a little more work, although there is something to say about a design that isn’t clear until you read the caption. Maybe that’s not good for newspapers, but for an experiment in wearable news, perhaps.
Still, the idea is very Post-Modern, very experimental, no? (last line to be read in annoying French accent).
News you can wear.
